Some of you love melons and some of you love trivia / and some of you love trivia and melons.  We have a fun-Sunday night just for you.  Bring your favorite melon and bring your head-full of meticulous information.  We are going to enjoy an August Melon Fest and enjoy the amazing information that some of us have accumulated in our brains.  Ken Clark heads up the program that evening.

The deacons meet in regular session this month.  The deacons of WGBC take ministry seriously.  We walk among our people in a caring manner.  When the issues of life occur, we care for you.  We become to you the personal hand of the Lord God.  We don’t ever want to be intrusive but we want to minister to you in the name of Jesus Christ.

A Centennial Committee is preparing WGBC for our one hundredth anniversary in 2013.  It seems the more the committee does, the more they discover what needs to be done.  The June, 2013, festivity will be a Saturday evening Banquet Celebration followed by a Sunday morning Worship Celebration.  Our history is being brought up to date.  A database of folks who have been a part of WGBC through the years is being assembled.  Lists are being compiled: people ordained, ministry-staff who served, weddings that occurred.  The more we gather, the more we realize we don’t have.  If you have “historical data” of the life & times of WGBC, we would love to have your information.
