The Sanctuary Choir sings the Christmas musical CELEBRATE THE GIFT by Camp Kirkland during the Morning Worship of December 19. This musical is a fresh blend of Christmas favorites, carols and newer songs of the season.
Brenda Lisinby, CBF Representative to China, was on the computer phone with WGBC on Wednesday, December 8. Brenda has been with us at WGBC on two separate occasions; we provide financial support to Brenda’s ministry through our church budget. Pastor Stewart was hosted in China by Brenda when he visited China in 2005.
Russell Cawthon in the foreground of the picture serves as the Chair of our Missions Committee.
Several from our church purchased gifts for the Bosnian children and placed the gifts in a shoebox-sized container. These gifts are now ready to be delivered to the Bosnian community in south St. Louis but first we pray and dedicate these gifts to the Lord God. We pray that God will use these gifts at Christmas time for the children’s happiness. We pray that these Bosnian families might trust more fully in the Lord God as a result of these gifts at Christmas time.

The candles of the Advent Wreath remind of that God is coming to us. He came in the past at Bethlehem. He comes to us today in the situations of life. He will come to us in the future. God comes to us. The wreath reminds us of that truth. We accent the candles with Hope, Peace, Joy and Love. A new candle is lighted each Sunday. The center Christ candle will be lighted on Christmas Eve.
